10th-12th March 2023
Maggie is a regular here at Radcliffes Lodge, having stayed with us 4 times previously (twice in the lodge and twice in our luxury holiday apartments,) so we were delighted when she prosed holding a yoga weekend with us.
After weeks of planning however, one of her clients broke their ankle 2 days before the weekend which was painful for her and disappointing for maggie, still the show must go on, well until heavy snow in Stockport on the Friday tried to stop it. Undeterred though Maggie and her husband Richard battled the weather and traffic and arrived late afternoon at the Lodge, only slightly behind all of their guests.
An early evening walk by the group got the weekend started before setting up the lounge for yoga later on.
Maggie had cooked for the group for the whole weekend and looking at it they would certainly not be going hungry. A classic vegetable lasagne with garlic bread and salad started the evening very well followed by restorative and relaxation yoga at 9pm, then bed by 9:30pm or so they had us believe….
Saturday started at 8:00am with an hour and a half of yoga before breakfast, then a “Free Day” where most walked to Warkworth to see the castle and have a pub lunch and stroll about the shops. Once agin that evening our kitchen and dining room was put to good use with Maggie producing another great evening meal of chilli, rice and salad followed by a cheese board. Restorative yoga at 9pm and another early night??? ….they just tell us anything!
Sunday was another early Yoga session at 8am then breakfast before readying for check-out at 10:30. The group then headed down to Hauxley Nature Reserve whilst I took Richard for a wee bike ride down to The Drift Cafe and back. Maggie and Richard stayed on an extra night to unwind after all of Maggie’s hardwork.
A huge well done from us for organising what looked a fab weekend and a big thanks for once again staying at Radcliffes Lodge. We look forward to seeing them both in 2 weeks time when they are staying again.
